From Guy Ritchie’s new gangster series (starring Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, no less) to Michael Bublé hosting the Junos live from Vancouver, we round up our top 10 shows to watch this week
1. MobLand – Sunday, March 29, Paramount+ | Series Premiere

With a film career that includes such kinetic action hits as Snatch and Robert Downey, Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes, director Guy Ritchie has lately been expanding his oeuvre to TV. It started in 2024 with The Gentlemen, a serialized remake of his 2019 big-screen gangster romp. Season two of that show will hit Netflix in 2026 — but first, Ritchie produces and co-directs this new series for Paramount+, once again tapping into his crime thriller roots. MobLand stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, a power couple who lord over the London underworld. He’s the charm, she’s the brains — and it’s made for a very lucrative combo. Yet as Conrad says in the trailer: “Power is a hungry thing, and there’s always a rat bastard looking to take what’s mine!”
So when the Harrigans find themselves at war with a rival outfit, they turn to their devoted fixer Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy, who previously worked with Ritchie in 2008’s RocknRolla) to keep the business afloat and the family alive. On that note, Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) plays the Harrigans’ son, Kevin, and Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt is Harry’s wife, Jan. Click here to watch trailer.
2. The 2025 Juno Awards – Sunday, March 30, CBC

As patriotism soars to new tariff-fuelled heights, there’s no better time to join Burnaby’s own Michael Bublé as he hosts this year’s celebration of Canadian music. Taking place in Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, this year’s Junos will feature performances by Aqyila, Josh Ross, Nemahsis, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Tia Wood and what’s promised to be the last-ever performance by Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees Sum 41. This marks the third time Bublé has hosted the Junos, and the second time from his hometown. “Now that I think about it, I guess this is my version of ‘work from home’” he joked in a statement. “I promise I won’t wear my pajamas!”
3. The Chicken Sisters – Sunday, March 30, W Network | Series Premiere

In this new Hallmark Channel series, estranged sisters Amanda (Schuyler Fisk) and Mae (Genevieve Angelson) are reluctantly reunited when they’re pitted against each other in reality TV competition Kitchen Clash, which serves to escalate the feud between their rival fried-chicken restaurants. Also starring are Back to the Future’s Lea Thompson and Hot in Cleveland alum Wendie Malick. Click here to watch trailer.
4. An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution – Monday, March 31, ABC

Oprah Winfrey is joined by a panel of renowned medical experts and leading voices for a deep dive into the traditionally taboo topic of menopause. “We discuss what you need to know to best advocate for yourself when it comes to mental health, sleep, weight, sex and your brain so we can ultimately see how freeing menopause can be in your life, with the best yet to come,” she said.
5. American Masters – Tuesday, April 1, WTVS & KCTS

The fascinating journey of Liza Minnelli unfolds in this new American Masters documentary, Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story. The daughter of Hollywood legend Judy Garland, Minnelli was born to be in the spotlight, and the EGOT-winning star has remained there for her entire life.
In the two-hour film, Minnelli opens up about her relationships with her most trusted mentors — Kay Thompson, Fred Ebb, Charles Aznavour, Halston and Bob Fosse — while discussing the profound influence they’ve had on her career.
The star-studded roster of interviewees includes Michael Feinstein, Ben Vereen, Jim Caruso, George Hamilton, Mia Farrow, Darren Criss, her Cabaret co-star Joel Grey and the late Chita Rivera, who all share their candid insights into her amazing career. Meanwhile, Minnelli herself gets candid about her often-tumultuous personal life, from navigating the pitfalls of fame after her mother’s death to her various romantic relationships over the years
“Liza is the quintessential superstar,” said the film’s director, Bruce David Klein. “She overcame so much pressure and scrutiny, with the help of incredible mentors and friends, to become the legend she is today. It was an honour to capture more of Liza’s vivacity, vulnerability and candour for the world to see.”
6. Nimesh Patel: Instant Karma – Tuesday, April 1, Netflix

It’s been a slow and steady rise through the comedy ranks for Nimesh Patel over the past decade or so. After building up solid cred on the nightclub circuit, he scored gigs writing jokes for the likes of Chris Rock and Hasan Minhaj at major awards galas, and eventually became the first-ever Indian-American writer on Saturday Night Live, scoring an Emmy nomination.
Now, not unlike fellow SNL writer John Mulaney before him, Patel is stepping into the spotlight as never before with his first Netflix special. Instant Karma sees the funnyman riffing on such topics as rebelling against his very traditional parents, why you should never “go viral” in India, and, per unconfirmed reports, a few thoughts on Trump, Musk and the tumultuous political situation down south.
All told, this marks an impressive milestone for someone who, by his own admission, didn’t even start getting up onstage until after he graduated from New York University. As Patel quipped to Michigan Daily: “I graduated in 2008, with a degree in finance. And that was about the funniest thing you could do at the time.”
“I . . . honestly had the arrogance of ignorance,” he continued of his career pivot into standup. “I had no idea what I was up against to become successful. I just kept doing open mics and figuring it out as it came along. And I just never got bored of it.”
7. Love on the Spectrum – Wednesday, April 2, Netflix | Season Premiere

Season three of this heartwarming, Emmy-winning series welcomes another array of 20- and 30-somethings on the autism spectrum as they try their hand at dating.
Just like last year, that will include a mix of returnees and fresh faces, all of whom set out with enthusiasm and determination to prove that just because they process the world a little differently than most, doesn’t mean they can’t land a happily-ever-after. Offering guidance along the way is neurodiversity expert Jennifer Cook. Speaking with Tudum ahead of this third season, Cook noted specific areas that she tends to focus on with autistic daters, like strengthening communication skills and active listening. But ultimately, her best advice to them is the same as to anyone else: “Patience! with others, with themselves, with love in general . . . Click here to watch trailer.
8. The Bondsman – Thursday, April 3, Prime Video | Series Premiere

In his first major TV project since that three-season stint with Boston true-crime thriller City on a Hill, Kevin Bacon returns to the horror genre he’s so effectively mined in the past with films like Tremors, Flatliners and Stir of Echoes, not to mention Fox serial killer series The Following.
With this eight-part foray into the macabre, he plays Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who gets himself murdered, only to be resurrected by the devil and put to work using his particular set of skills to round up demons that have busted loose from hell. Along the way, as he’s hunting down these supernatural menaces, Hub comes to understand the ways in which he was an unholy terror on those he held dearest before his death — perhaps getting a second chance at “life, love and country music.”
Speaking of which, country singer and The Righteous Gemstones star Jennifer Nettles plays our antihero’s ex-wife, Maryanne; Lost in Space’s Maxwell Jenkins plays his estranged son, Cade; Justified alum Damon Herriman is Maryanne’s new boyfriend, country club owner Lucky; and The White Lotus’ Jolene Purdy plays Midge, whose youthful visage belies a secret, otherworldly wisdom . . . and a mysterious agenda.
During an interview with Deadline at the recent SXSW festival (where The Bondsman had its premiere), Bacon reflected on the longevity of his career and the versatility as an actor that’s allowed him to get to this point — crediting director Oliver Stone and 1991 film JFK for setting him on the right path after the success of Footloose was pushing Bacon towards being a “pop star” actor.
“I was kind of spinning my wheels,” he said, “ . . . but when [JFK] came out, things shifted 100 per cent, they pretty much shifted overnight. Everyone was like ‘Oh, he’s not a leading man, he’s a character actor.’ So, that’s what I still am.”
9. Dying for Sex – Friday, April 4, Disney+ | Series Premiere

Based on a true story previously chronicled in an award-winning podcast of the same name, Dying for Sex follows Molly Kochan, a 40-something woman who, after learning that her in-remission breast cancer has returned and is now terminal, decides to leave her husband of 15 years and go on a no-holds-barred sexual odyssey. Along the way, Molly will not only achieve mind-blowing (albeit occasionally awkward) copulation, but confront past traumas, and find the sense of self and peace she’s been lacking her entire life.
Bringing Molly to life is five-time Oscar-nominee Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn), who will look to score her second-ever Emmy win, (after 2019’s Fosse/Verdon). Behind the scenes, creative voices include Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl) and Leslye Headland (Russian Doll).
As its title would suggest, Dying for Sex is a series that faces the grimmest of circumstances with a bittersweet chuckle. And while Molly’s sexual awakening and empowerment are no doubt at the heart of narrative, it’s also a story of friendship — specifically between Molly and her best pal Nikki Boyer (played here by SNL alum Jenny Slate), who co-founded and co-hosted the aforementioned podcast . . . one of many ways she served as Molly’s rock during this profound journey of embracing life for the first time right when you’re nearing its end.
As Boyer told the New York Post in 2020: “It’s not just about the sex. It’s about healing old wounds and coming to terms with what is happening to her. Sex, for her, was not the endgame.”
Furthermore, Boyer mused: “People can think all day about what they would do, but you never know what life will throw at you and how you will react . . . What’s on your bucket list? What do you want to live for? . . . My hope is that people nurture their relationships. Don’t wait for someone to tell you they’re dying.” Click here to watch trailer.
